Project description

On 14 June 2018, the Elektrobildungs- und Technologiezentrum e.V. (EBZ) officially opened an innovative energy car park with a photovoltaic carport, storage system, car park lighting with light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and several charging points for electric vehicles. Among other things, the project serves as a practical learning centre for local trainees.

An important component of the car park are bifacial photovoltaic modules, which have been installed on part of the carport system. These modules can absorb light from both sides and thus increase the energy yield. The purchase of these modules was funded as part of the Innovation4E-Handwerk pilot project of the special ÜBS digitisation programme. Self-generated electricity can be charged in 6 of the 42 parking spaces.

By monitoring electricity generation, storage and consumption, learners can analyse real energy flows and gain practical experience. The project has proven to be an effective learning centre that significantly increases participants' motivation and interest in modern energy technologies.
