Project description

The egNEOS - Neue Energien Ostsachsen eG project involves the installation of a photovoltaic system on the extension to the Montessori school in Dresden's Striesen district. The aim was to support the sustainable energy supply of the school building and to cover part of the electricity requirements on site with renewable energy.

The system with an output of around 46.5 kWp was installed on a roof area of around 400 m² and consists of 124 monocrystalline solar modules with an east-west orientation. A high energy yield is achieved by using a system with power optimisers and a three-phase inverter. The expected annual yield is around 42,300 kWh, of which around 65% can be used for the school's own consumption. Surplus electricity is fed into the grid.

The project helps to reduce electricity costs, increase self-sufficiency and contribute to the climate protection goals in Dresden.
