The Neue Energien Ostsachsen eG (egNEOS) energy cooperative project at the Neue Waldorfschule Dresden combines environmentally friendly heat and power generation. Two heat pumps supply the school with heat using geothermal energy. The electricity required comes from solar modules on the school roof. The system covers the building's annual heating requirements and generates additional solar power, which saves CO₂. The system has remote monitoring and fulfils the grid requirements of SachsenNetz.
