As part of the project, an air-to-air heat pump was installed to partially meet the heating requirements. The total investment cost was €7,000. A grant of €2,500 reduced the owner’s contribution to €4,500.
The installation was completed within two days and, under favourable conditions, can be carried out in a single day.
The air-to-air heat pump covers around 50 per cent of the annual heating requirements, thereby enabling a corresponding reduction in gas consumption. In addition, it can be used to cool the living spaces during the summer months, thus enhancing living comfort.
The system’s annual electricity consumption is around 220 kWh. Part of this electricity requirement is met by a balcony-mounted photovoltaic system, which helps to further reduce running costs.
