Digital Energy Guide revised

Online platform provides help with questions about heating, heat supply and funding opportunities

The revamped ‘Digital Energy Guide’ for the state capital of Dresden has been online for a few days now. The new platform helps residents navigate the increasingly complex world of energy and discover suitable solutions for their own heating and energy supply.
Whether it’s replacing a heating system, connecting to district heating, installing a heat pump or applying for grants – the Digital Energy Guide brings together information, highlights options for action and provides concrete examples of how to put them into practice.

Climate Mayor Eva Jähnigen: “Many residents are wondering how they can secure a safe, affordable and climate-friendly energy supply in the future. The Energy Guide website provides an important tool for the people of Dresden to help with this. With the Energy Atlas and the comparison tools, we’re giving everyone the chance to play an active role in shaping their own energy supply – transparently, evidence-based and practical.”

What does the Digital Energy Guide offer?

• Easy-to-understand information on modern heating technologies and sustainable energy solutions
• Details of advisory services and personalised assessments of funding opportunities, modernisation options, heating system replacement costs and much more
• The Energy Atlas as the platform’s central tool: once an address has been entered, technology options for that location are displayed based on heat planning data
• Practical examples from Dresden, comparisons of different heating systems and practical expert tips for renovation projects, energy-saving measures or advantageous financing options

The Digital Energy Guide is under continuous development. We therefore welcome further practical examples from Dresden and the surrounding region, as well as suggestions for improvements. Anyone interested can contact us by email at waermeplanung@dresden.de.

Background:

The Digital Energy Guide is a key component of the municipal heating plan for the state capital, Dresden. The platform makes the results of the heating plan understandable and easily accessible. It helps residents to find out about future supply options at an early stage and to make informed decisions regarding their buildings. In this way, the Digital Energy Guide contributes to the implementation of the energy transition in Dresden. The aim is to achieve a secure, affordable and climate-friendly energy supply that strengthens local value creation in the long term and reduces the city’s dependence on energy imports.
